CONFERENCE by Noëlle Lenoir at UC Berkeley on "The end of abundance - the energy challenges for France and Europe in the context of the war in Ukraine"

Invited by the Institute for European Studies at UC Berkeley, Noëlle Lenoir will give a lecture on October 7, 2022.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in February, an energy crisis has started to worry many countries dependent on Russian gas. The upcoming winter is expected to be a test not only for the French and European governments, but also for the climate and energy policy of the EU.

Noëlle Lenoir, partner at Noëlle Lenoir Avocats, is a leading legal expert and politician. She was the first woman and the youngest person to be appointed as a Justice of the French Constitutional Court, the equivalent of the US Supreme Court. She was the minister for European affairs in the French government from 2002 to 2004. A well-known specialist of EU affairs, climate and human rights law, and enterprise social responsibility issues, she previously taught at the Sorbonne, Paris Institute of Political Sciences, Columbia Law School and University College London.
