PUBLICATION of the collective study: "Le droit comme facteur d'attractivité" (Law as a factor of attractiveness)

On behalf of all the prestigious authors who contributed to the book I edited for the Grand Paris/Ile de France/Capitale Economique association on "le droit comme facteur d'attractivité" (Law as a factor of attractiveness) (Ed. Larcier), I'm delighted. Many thanks to them, as well as to Xavier Lépine, President, and Chloë Voisin-Bormuth, General Delegate of the association.

We received the second prize of the Cercle Montesquieu 2023 after the first one awarded to the work of my colleague Zoé Can Koray "Le Préjudice de l'Actionnaire", with our congratulations!

As for the "law as a factor of attractiveness", I would like to express my sincere thanks, beyond the authors, to Paris Place de Droit for our perfect cooperation and to the International Chamber of Commerce - France section - for its support.

Our twenty proposals seem vital to us. So we won't stop there.

A follow-up committee has been formed within the authors' collective and will soon get down to work: promotion of mediation in commercial cases, confidentiality of in-house lawyers' legal opinions, making arbitration awards more secure, creation of a diploma for foreign-qualified magistrates, drafting of model commercial contracts in French law, standardization of rules on civil action by associations with requirements for financial transparency and governance, possibility of taxing litigants in major commercial cases in proportion to the stakes involved, extension of the scope of the Convention Judiciaire d'Intérêt Public to all economic and financial offences, enhancement of the value of the commercial chambers recently created in Paris, and so on.

We will set an order of priority, while emphasizing the urgency of the proposed changes to preserve the attractiveness of the Paris legal center, whose decline is not an option!
